Tuesday Travels: The Spam Museum - gosh I ruined the surprise wth the title.


 If you go back and review (August 18), you will note that after Wisconsin Dells our next stop was Athens, MN and The Spam Museum.  We were cutting the time close and had only an hour to spend Spamming.  It was enough.  The museum was worthwhile with serious Spam history (WW II), Spam geography (Hawaii, Australia, Japan...), Spam pop-culture (Monty Python, Broadway) and just for fun Spam.  It could ONLY have been Better if the Spamettes carrying around various flavored samples of hot Spam had been dressed in black and white miniskirts (to match the floor) and roller skates.  (I should contact them!)  Below, enjoy a taste of The Spam Museum.

Musings on Lost Mothers

I've got a new boyfriend.  Landon.  He's going into the 5th grade next year.  I'm not sure if I'm cheating on my husband or my son. We meet at the pool.  As soon as I arrives, he's beside me asking "Do you want to dive off the board with me?" Absolutely, Landon.  Absolutely.   Zupe stopped playing with me 2 years ago.  If I swim up to him, he points me to the nearest ladder.  But, Landon... "Want to do a cannonball this time?"   "Let's run up to the edge and dive in!" And, he's so charming.  "How old ARE YOU?"  "Did you sleep OK last night? You look tired." Once again, I'm having fun and in demand!
