Sharp Force by Patricia Cornwell

The setting of the most recent murder (Christmas eve! a timely read as it turned out) was a mental hospital/ insane asylum which had had a sketchy history for more than a hundred years... While I enjoy reading Cornwell, and I did enjoy this ride, I found the ending to be rushed.  I was not surprised to find Peanut to be important (spoiler) but the serial killer just came out of the blue.  That isn't really any fun.  I did find one line to be especially frightening...  (aside - why frightENing but lightNing?)
